Excavation at Atranjikhera

The sands of time had settled gently upon a small village called Atranjikhera in Uttar Pradesh, covering up secrets that spanned millennia. It was in the summer of 1978 that a team of archaeologists, led by the unbeatable KK Muhammed, arrived to crack this mysterious tapestry. Carefully, the topsoil was removed, inch by inch, and excavation began. Every layer they went down into the past brought a new chapter of the region's history to light.

Being the director of Kesariya excavation from 1997 to 1999, he undertook a journey that would bring to light, layer by layer, the hidden secrets of the ancient site, opening a new chapter in the story of Bihar. Muhammad led his team through an expedition into the lives of those who came before. Every artifact, be it delicate fragments of pottery or imposing remnants of structure, speaks to a piece of this mega puzzle.

Sarnath is one of the most hallowed sites in the Buddhist world, under the able care of KK Muhammad. Being an excursion director from 1997 to 1999, it became a task for him to dig deeper into the heart of this holy ground. With sheer gentleness and true passion, Muhammad led the team through layer upon layer of history. Under Muhammad's expert digging, Sarnath gave up all its secrets, a place steeped in spirituality and ancient wisdom.
Al – Balid

In the middle of the Omani desert, there was one story of collaboration between countries. KK Muhammad teamed with Aachen University in Germany and bravely started a project to excavate Al-Balid from 1998 to 1999. The ancient port city of this once-bustling metropolis of trade lay entombed under shifting layers of sand, waiting to release its secrets. The desert was an obstacle, but undaunted by all the odds, the team uncovered a buried past. Every layer that was brought to light flashed Al-Balid in vivid color.

For centuries, Salimgarh Fort had been standing sentinel to Delhi's history, hiding secrets buried beneath the sands of time. In the year 2009, in the expert eyes of KK Muhammad, an expedition ventured into the very heart of this iconic monument. As director of Excavation, Muhammad would lead a team of dedicated archaeologists to unearth the layers that concealed the fort's past. It uncovered a wealth of history from remains of mundane life to the foundation of once grand structures.
